Timing Chips this Saturday
Dave is wanting to use the timing chips this Saturday for the group run. The more people the better, so please try to come and bring others with you. We meet at the White Bridge at 8:00 a.m. Dave would like to know about how many plan on coming so if you could either comment on this post or email Dave directly. Thanks. Hope to see more of you soon.

Saturday anyone?
Okay, so it's already Friday night and tomorrow is the group run again at 8:00 a.m., so this post might be a little late. If anyone happens to read this yet before tomorrow, please join us for the run. I assume the White Bridge parking lot is open, but if the water happens to still be up, meet in the first parking lot in the State Park. I wasn't at the meeting on Monday night and I haven't heard back from Mac to see if he will be there with the timing chips. Anybody know? We did have 5 people show up last Saturday, maybe we can double that this Saturday. We all ran our own paces basically and it worked well. Hope to see you all bright and early!!

Ready to Run
Well, the weather hasn't exactly been cooperating lately. The water is down and hopefully the snow is done. Saturday, meet at the White Bridge, 8:00 a.m. Starting in March, Mac is going to try and meet us there on Saturday mornings, so we can all try out the new racing chips. Should be fun. Remember the next meeting is planned on March 9th, and then there will be one more before the race on April 18th. We are in need of volunteers for registration, food table, aid station, and finish line, etc. If you have friends or family interested please contact myself or Mac. You can leave a comment too. Happy running, hope your training is going well.

High Water

Well, with the River Greenway being flooded, we need to move the meeting spot for the group run this Saturday morning. We will go ahead and meet at Kunkle Lake at 8:00 a.m. That is the first parking lot inside the State Park. If someone finds out exactly when the State Park starts charging, please comment.

Chris Brown
Well tomorrow is the Run It, Walk It for Chris Brown at IPFW. It looks like the weather will be great for it. There are no watches allowed since it is a prediction run making it a fun, enjoyable race for everyone. Leave a comment if you plan on going or did go to let us know how it went.
Speaking of comments, it would be really appreciated if people left comments so we knew if anybody was paying attention to the blog. Everyone is welcome to comment and leave feedback on the blog, or ideas for other posts, etc.
Remember, the Club is meeting on Saturday mornings, the White Bridge at 8:00 am for group runs. If that works into your schedule, great! I know the Club isn't very big and most people are at different paces, but meeting as a group is still neat. A few minutes of chit chat to help us get to know each other and then everyone can take off at their own pace. A few of us met this morning to run and are looking forward to seeing more people out as the weather gets nicer.
Also, a reminder that the Club meeting is this coming Monday at 7:00 pm at FPC. The chip timers have come in and there is more to discuss about the training run on April 18th. See you then.

Training

This week starts your 16 week training program for the Indy Mini, if you're running. Some go with a 12-14 week program too, but why prolong the inevitable? The weather is making it a little tricky to get your running time outdoors so thank goodness for treadmills, I think. I happen to have a TV in front of mine, well, only until the digital switch. I haven't purchased a converter box yet. Anyway, if anybody has any great tips for indoor training or surviving the outdoors, please share.

Saturday Runs
Hope you all enjoyed a very blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Leave a comment and let everybody know what your race agenda is for 2009. (i.e. I hope to run the April 18th 10 mile goal run unless I'm helping Mac, the Indy Mini, the B2B relay, Parlor City Trot, Fort 4 Fitness, and the WOOF, that's a huge agenda for me) What are your plans?
Also, if you read the comment in the last post, Joe from Fort Wayne I assume, wants to know if anyone is running Saturday mornings, 8-9 min pace, on the trails. He is wanting to run with some from the area. Leave a comment on that post in case he comes back to check so we know who would be interested. Thanks.
I assume many of you are getting ready for the Indy mini and ready to start training soon. Best of luck and hopefully the Club can get some more group runs planned. See you at the next meeting.
